Melita is a one-off, custom-built ketch-rigged monohull sailboat with a remarkable history. Purposefully crafted in 1971 by six Swedish sailors with the dream of circumnavigating the globe, she first journeyed from Sweden to the U.S. Virgin Islands, where she was sold to a local couple on St. Thomas. For the next 51 years, Melita was their trusted companion, circumnavigating them around the World, carrying them across the Atlantic 8 times, and helping them discover hidden gems of the Caribbean. We do not know her exact mileage, but it's certain she has sailed well over 100,000 nautical miles. A proven blue-water vessel, Melita has consistently demonstrated her strength, reliability, and spirit of adventure—always keeping her crew safe while embracing every challenge the sea presents.
