Originally from Wisconsin, I decided to start traveling after college to learn about our beautiful National Parks. After 8 years of guiding in parks such as Yellowstone, Glacier, and Denali, I discovered St John and the Virgin Islands National Park. I’m grateful to be able to show people my back yard while doing what I love to do most. Sail! I’m a US Coast Guard 50T Master Captain, PADI Dive Master, and Wilderness First Responder.

I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, but always felt the pull to see and experience the wider world. After spending three years living in Germany and traveling throughout Europe, I returned home to Cleveland for cherished family time before new adventures took me to Dallas and eventually to St. John, USVI. I find joy in connecting with people from all walks of life and creating meaningful experiences that inspire others to expand their world!

Captain Squid

Squid is the beloved captain of S/V Melita. Rescued as a tiny kitten while the crew was sailing through Grenada in search of their leader, he has since grown into his role with charm and confidence. Now a seasoned sailor, Squid knows every line aboard Melita and plays a vital part in keeping spirits high on every voyage.
